This was an assignment for my Typography class, where we learned ways to utilize type in graphic design. For this assignment, we were assigned a typeface and were responsible for providing a thorough history of the typeface and its creator.

For this piece, I was assigned Goudy Old Style for my typeface. We were also instructed to utilize hierarchy and grid in our designs, so I wanted to create an exciting and interactive design. I used the four boxes at the top of the poster to showcase some of my favorite font elements and to establish the grid I created for this design. I also featured the circular formation of the alphabet to incorporate every letter into the poster and a photo of its designer. I added texture to the piece by repeating the circular and bracket elements with lowered opacities in the bottom right.
During this project, I learned several ways to incorporate interesting factors into a grid-focused design. I also learned more about this typeface and its design, an area I've never looked into deeply before.
