Arkalalah is a fall festival that occurs yearly in Arkansas City, KS, where I earned my Associate's degree. Every year, the Arkalalah committee allows for logo submissions following their theme. This year's theme was "Aloha Arkalalah." I was extremely grateful to have my submission chosen as their logo for the second time. For this design, the Arkalalah Chairman wanted a logo that made him feel like he was back in his native state of Hawaii, and he wanted to bring that culture to Kansas. I went through a few designs before I decided to play this one out, and I'm glad I did. I wanted to create a scene to accommodate the Chairman and present the viewers with an experience where they could immerse themselves. I drew inspiration from old Hawaiian ads and implemented several colors and textures to add depth and interest to the design. It was an honor to showcase the skills I've learned since the year prior and apply them to a new theme.
