This project was a logo competition for Mayflower Clinic, a non-profit clinic in Wichita, KS, that serves the community of Wichita through volunteer nurses and doctors. Their mission is so important, so I decided to provide them with a logo that showcased their fantastic empathy for their community.

Mayflower Clinic was founded by immigrants to serve the community that gave them so much when they arrived in America. I wanted to showcase this strong backstory through an ocean or ship element and give their logo more recognition. I wanted viewers to see the logo and recognize that it was a healthcare facility.
I combined the idea of an abstract heart with a wave as a nod to the clinic's backstory for this logo's icon. I used their requested color palette to highlight the idea of the wave, while still highlighting the heart that builds up to the wave. Upon request, I also placed their motto along the righthand side of the heart. I placed their clinic's name underneath the icon in a sans-serif font so it wouldn't combat the scene the icon created.
I had a great time trying to mesh my ideas with their mission and requests, so learning more about designer-client relationships was a great experience. This was also one of my first freelancing opportunities, so seeing more of my work in the community was great. This logo was also showcased on a billboard alongside a major highway in Wichita, and it was the first time I had ever seen my work at that scale. I had a great time with this project, and I'm so grateful to Mayflower Clinic for selecting my design as their official logo.
